Professional Development Plan 8

What did I learn?

This section talked about many things but something that really caught my attention since I'm becoming a bilingual teacher was about the English learners and how it is very difficult for them when everything is being taught in English. But in this article it says that at the school they let the students that are very dominant in the language of English but still know Spanish, hel the students that don't know much English, which i believe it is good.

What else do I want to learn?

I would like to learn more about how bilingtual education is being taught in different schools, because it is very different everywhere and not many have the enough knowledge about what being a real bilingual is.

What did I learn?

"The Importance of Modeling"
I really liked this article because it talks about that not only by having the classroom rules displayed on every wall of the room is sufficient. We as teachers need to teach our kids the importance of the classroom management being proactive and reactive. In this article it is believed that the discipline should be proactive. By showing not just telling children will learn better.

What else do I want to learn?

I really liked this article and it showed everything about classroom managment. how to model to the students, what types of activities go with the classroom rules, etc.

What did I learn?

"A parent engagement model that works" was the title of the article i read.
This article was mainly about having parents being educated with what is going on and to get parents more involved with the activities in school and how they can help their kids at home.

What else do I want to learn?

I would like to learn more about the programs or "engagement" strategies that can be offered with the parents.

What did i Learn?

In this website I was browsing and found some lesson plans of poems and I found one for the month of May which I tought it was very nice for pre-kindergarten students, and what i loved the most is that it was a poem for Mother's Day. I have a beautiful three year old little girl and that is the reason i loved it. I learned that even though kids at a very young age can learn to recite and learn rhymes and poems.

What else do I want to learn??

I want to learn more poems to teach my young children in school!!!

Professional Development Plan 3

What did i learn?
In this section I read was about raising money for the schools without spending money. Teachers and students were looking out for ways to raise money without any hassle of losing their own money. It is amazing how there are so many ways to help the school and as future teachers, our kiddos too. The best thing is seeing the children's face full of happiness when doing something that they like, they are having fun while helping their school, and with some activities students are also learning, like the activity of spell-a-thon.

What else do I want to learn?
This article explained what the money that was raised was going to be used for, it also gave some examples of activities that can be done to raise money, and many other things. I think this article was very self explanatory and it just made me appreciate more that when you become a teacher, children will also look at you as a hero sometimes.

Professional Development Plan 1

What did i learn?

I read about the risks that are involved in integrating the internet into the k-12 curriculum.

There will always be material that cannot be seen by our students, an example would be pornography. This article demonstrates how this can have a solution by giving different ideas on how to improve and have good policies towards using the internet, and not having problems encountering with parents or students about this issue.

It mentions that parents will be aware that students are not to visit this websites and that there will be control in the computers when surfing the net and when doing school work.

What else do i want to learn?

This article had some very good points about the internet usage in school and how to integrate it in the curriculum. I was very pleased and i think that i didn't stay with a doubt or a question about the integration of the internet in the curriculum of the school.

Professional Development Plan #6

What did i learn?

The link i read was about everyday edits. I started reading this because it related to one of the assignments we did for a class which was learning experience approach. The professor gave a paragraph that had a lot of mistakes and the students need to grap the mistakes and correct it. This is to build language skills, test scores, and cultural literacy for grades 4 and up.

What else do i want to learn?

I actually learned a lot, because it gave a lot of feedback on how to perform this activities and how to work with the students. It also gave the appropriate grade level on who to do this type of activies.
